House general description.

This old original residence is in the old center of the little village of Sassofortino, part of Roccastrada, little town of Maremma Tuscany, close by Grosseto and Massa Marittima (20 km-1/2 h. ).
The location is mostly residential and the distance by car from Pisa Airport is 75 min., Siena 60 min., Florence 90 min. and Rome 2 hours.
The flat is located in a historical building and offers an independent suite with a separate entrance below the owner’s apartment. The owners are friendly and have travelled extensively. The seacost is distant about half an hour driving, with the beautiful beach of Castiglione della Pescaia. Not much further are Punta Ala, Cala Violina, Marina di Grosseto, Follonica and the protected natural park of Alberese. In the area are also the lake of Accesa (1/2 h.), Petriolo Thermal baths (40 min.) and Saturnia Thermal baths (60 min.). Sassofortino is also connected by bus to Grosseto and Siena.

Amenities:

The suite consists of a 30 sqm room with a double bed and a loft with eventually two more beds. The room was originally a stable, renewed mantaining the original feeding-trough. Walls and ceiling are in the tipical tuscany old rocks and beams.The furniture is very simply arranged, with some antique pieces:

• private bathroom with tub and shower
• Music system
• Electric water heater to make coffee or tea
• Mural cupboard for clothes and luggages
• Internet connection available through owner computer
• Nice garden, 100 m. from the house, with two fires gas kitchen, big table and biological vegetable garden to support your meals...

Our Policies:

• 2 night Minimum stay
• Maximum four people
• No credit cards
• No pets allowed
• No smoking (except in the garden)
• Maid service every 3 to 4 days for long stays

Smoking is not allowed in the room. No open flames of any kind, including lit cigarettes or burning candles, are allowed in the building.

Check-out 11:00 am.

Check-in 3:00 pm, unless otherwise arranged.

Late check-out can be arranged for an additional fee.

Rates:

• Euro 15 per night for one person.

• Euro 10 " " " children under 15.

Minimum 2 nights.

In the season when heating is needed 10,00 euro by day extra.

Map and how to reach us:

The closest airport is Pisa (75 min. by car), from there you can also get a train to Montepescali and we will come to pick you up.

Half an hour further is the Rome-Fiumicino airport, from there also train to Montepescali.

Coming by car:

arriving from North, autostrada La Spezia-Rosignano, then via Aurelia s.s. N.1 direction Rome, exit the second of Gavorrano, Gavorrano Scalo, follow to Ribolla then Sassofortino.

arriving from South, autostrada Rome-Civitavecchia, then via Aurelia s.s. N.1 direction Livorno/Grosseto, after Grosseto go out at the second exit of Montepescali, follow to Montemassi and before you will find the direction Sassofortino.

When you are in Sassofortino go to park at the church. We are in the third little street coming in the old center.

Surroundings:

Walk slowly and look ahead: you will see age-old chestnut trees, streams of fresh bubbling water, the winding lanes of the small medieval village of Sassofortino. Climb the sides of the nearby hill of Sassoforte where the chestnut trees slowly give way to thick beech woods: under your feet you will feel the trachytic rocks which were once used to build the impressive structure of Sassoforte Castle: today the overwhelming ruins are engaged in an endless battle against the creeping vegetation. Rocks instead of skyscrapers, footpaths instead of paved roads, terraces, from which to admire in the distance the shape of the Torre del Mangia and further south the isle of Giglio, instead of crowed squares and shop's neon signs. Rather a traveller than a tourist, whoever comes to Sassofortino chooses silence and tranquillity. Nevertheless, not far away in the busy Maremma with its fashionable beaches and discoteques: only a few miles away are the towns of Tuscany, steeped in art and culture.

At only 3 km is Roccatederighi another beautiful old village made up on rocks and few km more downhill Montemassi, with the old castle, last defence on the middle age never ending fight between the Repubblic of Pisa and Siena.

Rebalancing:

Joint Release:

Joint Release reminds the body, and being, of what it feels like to be relaxed and at ease. During a session the client experiences many sensations of confort and pleasure. This feeds into the central nervous system and creates a new imprint of what it is like to be at ease with the body. Gentle rocking, shaking and streching movements are used. These movements encourage the client to let go in a safe way. Re-education happens on many levels, the old patterns fading as the new imprint take over.
